Paraffin: Is derived from petroleum. It is used as a fragrance ingredient, is a skin conditioning agent and a viscosity agent. It is considered to be a non-reproductive organ system toxin.
Potassium Cetyl Phosphate: Unfortunately I was unable to find a lot of information on this ingredient. It is a potassium salt of esters of phoshoricacid and cetyl alcohol. it is an emulsifier. As for side effects and toxicity I was unable to find any information. Although Cetyl Alcohol is considered to be a toxin.
Cera Alba/Beeswax/Cire Dabeille: This is derived fro the honeycomb of bees. It is used as thickening agents and emulsifiers. it is generally deemed very safe and of low toxicity. However, caution may needed to be taken for those with allergies.
Copernicia Cerifera/Cera/Carnauba Wax: Carnunba wax is derived from the leaves of the carnauba palm. It is used as an epilating agent. It is considered to be benign to both humans and to the environment.
Acacia Senegal Gum: Is derived from the dried sap of the acacia tree. It is used as a fragrance ingredient as well as a film forming agent. It is considered to be a skin allergen and a respiratory allergen. It is also classified as a medium human health priority as there is concern regarding non-reproductive organ system toxicity.
|Glycerin: Is pretty benign and of low toxicity. It is used in products mainly because it is affective at improving the smoothness of the product and is a good lubricant. Glycerin is a byproduct of bio-diesel. However, all you vegans take note. This form is very expensive, therefore it is more often derived from animal fats such as beef and vegetable oils such as coconut or soy beans. Therefore some products that list glycerin in their ingredients may not be vegan.
